The Festival of Trees, held annually at the Saco Museum, is a beloved holiday tradition for the community.

Now in it’s 20th year, volunteers work tirelessly to transform the galleries into a enchanted, sparkling wonderland of beautifully decorated trees, each with it’s own special theme. Guests can wander through the museum to appreciate the trees, bid on art work from esteemed local artists on the Art Tree, and drop raffle tickets into one of many boxes for a chance to win exciting prizes donated by local businesses and individuals.

With additional events for adults and children, it’s a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season and get into the festive spirit!

The 24th Annual Atlantic Plunge helps ensure survivors can access free, critical services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from Caring Unlimited, York County’s sole domestic violence resource center.

WinterKids is the only non-profit in Maine dedicated exclusively to increasing outdoor physical activity in children and families during our longest, most sedentary season. They help children develop healthy lifelong habits through education and fun outdoor winter activities, creating opportunities for children to be active, vibrant, and healthy outdoors. WinterKids programs reach children in all 16 counties of Maine and beyond!

Mary's Walk began in 1999 as a way to remember and honor Mary Kerry Libby, a much-loved member of the Saco-Biddeford community, who passed away from Burkitt's Lymphoma March 7, 1997. Twenty-seven years later, Mary’s Walk has raised over $4.4 million for cancer support services for the people of Maine.  

Mary's Walk is a major fundraiser for Maine Cancer Foundation, a state-wide organization focusing on prevention, early detection, and access to care for cancer patients and their families.

Route: Mary's Walk will follow Mary's original route as she traveled through the downtown area.

April 19, 2025

A tradition that began in 2014, Papa's Peeps Egg Hunt Benefit was created to honor and remember the beloved James Judge, better known in the community as "Papa". He dedicated his life to creating happiness to those around him and his legacy lives on through this benefit event.

The egg hunt was created by Sharon Judge and family, who are member's of the Ken's Place community.

Beneficiary: Hearts & Horses Therapeutic Riding 
 

May 17, 2025

Community members and businesses are encouraged to bring up to two boxes of documents (cancelled checks, old bills and invoices, medical records, etc.) for safe and confidential shredding. Shredding will be provided by Shredding on Site® Mobile Shredding. Staff will assist with disposing shredding materials.  

Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Biddeford Food Pantry. 

Details are below:

          What: Free Drive-thru Shredding Event 

          When: Saturday, May 17th, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to noon, or until the truck is full.

          Where: Saco & Biddeford Savings - Biddeford Branch, 160 Shops Way, Biddeford, ME

          Who: Open to the public. All community members are invited to attend.

          Highlights: Free, safe, and confidential shredding for up to two boxes of documents (per household).

Bank Information and Cancelled Checks
Obsolete Invoices
Outdated Bills
Letters, Envelopes, Ledgers
Mortgage & Loan Information
Any Other Clean Paper
Medical Information

Items NOT acceptable for shredding include (but not limited to):
Accordion Folders
Cardboard & Cardboard Boxes
Dark Brown Colored Folders
Electronics
Magazines
Newsprints
Plastic
X-Rays
