“When I first started working at Lee Nails & Spa, I was 19 and just trying to help my Uncle because they were understaffed. Overtime, though, my passion for doing nails just grew bigger and I ended up staying. I’m 29 now, so I’ve been working in this field for almost 10 years.
We used to own Lee Nails in Saco which started in 2003, but we sold that in 2018. Lee Nails & Spa, located in Old Orchard Beach, was opened in 2011.
During the pandemic, we were very concerned for the wellbeing of our customers and wanted to operate the business as safely as possible. We took all the necessary precautions so that every customer felt safer when they came for their appointments.
I learned through those difficult times to be more patient. As the saying goes, 'Treat others the way you want to be treated.' Community is essential, and the pandemic was a good reminder of how important it truly is.
What makes our place so special is that it’s not just about getting your nails done. It’s a therapeutic experience. It’s an opportunity for customers to come in and get some pampering time. It’s a place where they can meet up and connect with people.” - Maria Nguyen, Assistant Manager
