Cody Newton Celebrating 5 Years at SBSI

Cody Newton, Payment Operations Specialist at Saco & Biddeford Savings, is celebrating his 5-year work anniversary this month!

Cody first discovered his knack for handling numbers working at Market Basket while in high school. After graduation, he took the first step into the banking world as a Seasonal Teller at SBSI.

When the season wrapped up, he effortlessly transitioned to a full-time teller position, eager to deepen his engagement with customers and the bank's operations. Through the years, he’s worked in various roles, including Customer Relationship Associate and Customer Care.

An opening in Digital Banking caught Cody's eye, offering a chance to get into the more technical aspects of banking. After a year there, Cody found a home in Payment Operations—a role that felt just right, combining a love for detail with his banking know-how.

One of his favorite parts about his job is having the opportunity to form bonds with his co-workers and get to know his customers better. The pace at SBSI allows for friendly chats and building connections. Plus, he credits his incredible experience in banking to his manager Julie LoPresti, who he says makes everyone feel valued in their department.

In his free time, Cody enjoys reading, painting and hanging out with his feline friend.
