Bob Quentin is officially retiring from Saco & Biddeford Savings at the end of this month! Thankfully, he won't be straying too far from us though — he will remain as a trusted and valued member on the SBSI Board of Directors.
Bob has truly devoted so much of his career to the success of SBSI and the well-being of its employees and customers. An endless stream of amazing things can be said for the wonderful legacy that Bob has built throughout the past 34+ years.
Bob began his journey with Saco & Biddeford Savings in April of 1989. Over the years, he held a handful of prestigious titles including Compliance and Financial Operations, Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, President and Chief Executive Officer.
It is fair to say, Bob accomplished a multitude of successes throughout his noteworthy career with SBSI. Beyond what he has done for the organization, he has modeled some of the most admirable traits for being a thoughtful, generous, humble and kind human being.
Bob has a gift of making people feel calm regardless of what is happening around us. He never hesitates to put his tasks aside for a few moments to help any one of us.
Although he could certainly guide our questions towards another SBSI team member, he typically embraces the opportunity to help someone, while making a stronger connection with them. He takes the time to get to know us not only as employees, but more importantly, as people.
We can all recall a time when Bob's sense of humor was exactly what we needed and was delivered at the absolute, perfect time! Bob is truly one of the most humble souls.The knowledge and wisdom that fills his mind is immense and unmeasurable. He never hesitates to share information that might be helpful to someone and he does so, in the most sincere and caring manner.
The words “thank you!" just don't seem to capture the magnitude of appreciation that we have for all that Bob has accomplished and provided towards the success of this amazing organization.
He has lit the path for us. It's up to us to carry forward the compassion, intelligence and humility that Bob has provided to each of us in hundreds of different ways over the past 35 years.
One of Bob's favorite movies is “It's a Wonderful Life". It seems perfectly fitting to use a quote from the movie:

We truly hope that you are entering your next adventure with a heart that is overflowing with kindness, love, compassion, laughter, optimism, generosity and humility, because you have given us all that, and so much more!
Congratulations, Bob! We wish you a long and treasured retirement alongside Sandy! May each day be filled with laughter, excellent health, activities that make you smile and a heart full of satisfaction and love.
